Privacy
This notice explains what happens with your data on this website, openlogs.gg, and in the OpenLogs web app at app.openlogs.gg. It does not cover other sites these pages link to.
Who is responsible
The controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is Shaydera. For anything about your data, write to [email protected].
Delivering openlogs.gg and app.openlogs.gg: Cloudflare
Both sites are delivered through Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Every request to them passes through Cloudflare, which receives your IP address, the requested address, the time, your browser's user agent and the referring page. Cloudflare uses this to deliver and cache the site and to protect it against attacks, and keeps its own logs under its own retention rules. From the same requests Cloudflare shows us aggregated statistics, such as the number of visits, the pages read and the countries they come from; we do not see individual visitors in them.
Cloudflare processes this data on our behalf under its Data Processing Addendum. Data may be transferred to the USA; Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and the standard contractual clauses in the addendum apply in addition. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a fast and secure website and in knowing roughly how it is used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Hosting: Hetzner
Both sites run on a server of Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, located in Helsinki, Finland. Hetzner processes the data needed to run the server on our behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR).
Server logs
The web server on that machine logs each request it receives: the IP address it sees, the time, the requested address, the response status and size, the referring page and the browser's user agent. We use these logs only to run the sites and to find errors and attacks, based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). They are deleted after 14 days.
This website, openlogs.gg
- It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and runs no analytics or tracking scripts.
- Fonts, images and the video come from openlogs.gg itself.
- The current OpenLogs version shown on the page is read from openlogs.gg too; your browser does not contact GitHub for it.
The OpenLogs web app, app.openlogs.gg
Your combat logs
OpenLogs analyses a combat log in your browser, on your own device. The log file is never uploaded, neither to us nor to anyone else. Logs contain the character names of everyone in the group; they stay on your device too. All of the app's files, including game data, icons and map images, come from app.openlogs.gg itself.
What the app stores in your browser
The app sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking. To work, it keeps the following in your browser's storage (localStorage and IndexedDB). None of it is sent to us.
- Your settings: theme, display size, switches you changed, replay settings and saved time ranges.
- An index of each log you open, so it opens instantly next time. It contains the character names from that log. Indexes that have not been used for a while are removed automatically.
- A list of up to 12 recently opened logs with file name, size, zone, start time, number of pulls and when you opened it. In Chrome and Edge it also keeps a handle that lets the app reopen the file, which the browser may ask you to allow again.
This storage is necessary for the functions you use (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can remove all of it at any time by deleting the site data for app.openlogs.gg in your browser.
Links to other sites
Links to GitHub, including the download of the desktop app, lead to GitHub; the Discord links lead to our Discord server. Nothing is sent to these services until you follow a link. What happens there is described in their own privacy notices: GitHub's at github.com/site/privacy, Discord's at discord.com/privacy.
Your rights
You have the right to access the data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to have it corrected (Art. 16), deleted (Art. 17) or its processing restricted (Art. 18), and to receive it in a portable format (Art. 20). You may object at any time to processing based on our legitimate interest (Art. 21). Write to [email protected].
You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the one responsible for us: Die Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz Niedersachsen, Prinzenstraße 5, 30159 Hannover, Germany.
